Steam is now accessible from your phones, as Valve takes their official iOS and Android apps out of beta, and releases them to the general public. 
Steam Mobile allows you to log into your Steam account, and access various features including Steam Chat, the Store, news feeds and Community pages. Of course in time the feature list will expand with updates and constant development from Valve.Although it is out of beta, it is perhaps still a bit buggy, and has some incomplete sections. For now it could be useful for chatting mostly, and keeping up with sales when you're away from your own computer. Or if you want to add someone you meet IRL to your friends list, you can go ahead and do it straight away.
